Time International Highlights Flourishing Talents with its First Photo Competition and Exhibition, “The Time of Your Life”

The exhibition showcases Top 15 pictures selected from a photo competition in partnership with Darwis Triadi School of Photography. As the first initiative, the event series is held in the quest of finding and nurturing fresh creative individuals in photography.

After three months of photo competition process, the best pictures are revealed during the exhibition’s launching event. In which crowns; “Classic Black & White” by Sempurna Tarigan as the first prize winner, “The Black Stallion” by Ronald Jimmy at second place, followed by “Sporty & Elegant” by Kiki Aditariski.

Jakarta, 10 July 2014 – Lights and the art of watchmaking blend in “The Time of Your Life” Photo Exhibition, exposed and appreciated at Senayan City from 10th-20th July 2014, hosted by a leading watch retailer Time International. The exhibition showcases Top 15 pictures selected from a photo competition in partnership with Darwis Triadi School of Photography. As the first initiative, the event series is held in the quest of finding and nurturing fresh creative individuals in photography. Marking the exhibition’s launch as well as revealing of the winners, the awards are presented by Irwan Danny Mussry, President & CEO of Time International, and renowned Indonesian photography expert Darwis Triadi himself.

Fresh ideas and artistic values of new talents are highly respected as a part of Time International’s corporate mission to contribute to society. It is realized through this celebration of art as the “diamonds in the rough” are spotlighted and brought to the industry. It is with the hope that it will help them launch their career in the vast growing creative industry of Indonesia.

Time International, particularly through The Time Place magazine has been close to the world of photography. Since its debut in 2005, it has been dedicated to satisfying the cravings of watch aficionados all over Indonesia, and visuals have more and more becoming an important role in the magazine’s success. Many talented photographers have contributed to the magazine and it has also become the background of this photo competition initiative.

Through the lens of these fresh talents, the art of fashion and watch photography takes a whole new level of creativity. Depicting the beauty of high-end horology, the exhibition showcases 15 images that shine the brightest out of 50 entries registered through Darwis Triadi School of Photography (registration open only for Intermediate and Advanced students/alumni). Their compositions and photo impacts have been evaluated by expert judges from the industry; Irwan Danny Mussry, President and CEO of Time International, Lulu Dewayanti from LOOK Models Inc, Darwis Triadi from Darwis Triadi School Of Photography and Deborah Iskandar from ISA Art Advisory.

After three months of the competition process, the best pictures are revealed during the exhibition’s launching event. In which crowns; “Classic Black & White” by Sempurna Tarigan as the first prize winner, “The Black Stallion” by Ronald Jimmy at second place, followed by “Sporty & Elegant” by Kiki Aditariski. The winners are rewarded with a cash prize of 15 million rupiahs, 10 million rupiahs and 5 million rupiahs consecutively according to their ranks. To increase their credibility in the realm of photography and exposing their talents further, they will also have the opportunity showcase their camera skills and have their photo spreads published in The Time Place magazine that now has 35,000 circulations all over Indonesia. Besides the top 3, Voter’s Choice is also announced today. “Strong Manly & Romantic Man” by Yakin Kersana is chosen as the most liked picture selected by social media fans of The Time Place and INTime.
